People undergoing treatment for cancer have unique nutritional needs and often have elevated requirements.

Diet plays an important part in supporting you on your cancer journey. Nutrients help the growth of healthy cells in your body and allow you to maintain energy and strength levels. Our registered dieticians work with patients to ensure they have the best diet and nutrients meet individual needs prior to, during, and after treatment. As specialist in cancer treatment, our dieticians will help you to understand what your body needs during this time.

People with cancer may find their appetite and food preferences are affected by their treatment making it difficult to meet nutritional needs. A dietitian can help maximise your cancer treatment by individualising a nutrition plan for you based on the type of treatment you require. This will also consider your food preferences, symptoms, lifestyle, beliefs and concerns. Once cancer treatment is complete, keeping a healthy diet will help your body heal and offer protective effects for the future. Following a healthy eating plan can help reduce your risk of other chronic diseases.
